Benevolent Association Mission Statement

The Firefighters of Local 2916 Benevolent Association are committed to helping members of our community, region, nation and beyond in times of hardships, sickness or need. We will strive to provide a helping hand in times of distress, benefits in times of financial hardship and fellowship among firefighters and citizens in all times, good and bad.

The Fire Fighters of Local 2916 Benevolent Association is an official 501(c)(3) non-profit! This means your contributions are tax deductible! Our benevolent association is accepting donations, which will be used to benefit those in our community.

Donations in Honor of Warren Rose

Warren was a dedicated member of our community, serving many years as a volunteer firefighter with SCFD 9. It was rare to not see Warren at a weekly volunteer training session all the way up until his diagnosis. Even during his battle with cancer, Warren would stop by the fire stations to hang out and let the members know how we was doing. His absence is deeply felt, and he is missed.

Christmas on Fire

Christmas on Fire is back again! There were big smiles on families' faces as we delivered multiple gifts. In 2017, your donations totaled a little over $4,300! These donations from firefighters, family and friends supported 10 separate families totallying 30 children. In addition, Fred Meyer's Employee Association contributed $500 in gift cards as well as made the gift shopping a fun expereince.

High School Scholarship Opportunity

Application period is CLOSED.

Application period is from September 1st, 2018 through April 30th, 2019

The Firefighers of Local 2916 Benevolent Association will award two (2) $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors.

To be eligible you must be:

- Either be a Mead High School, Mt. Spokane High School, or Lakeside High School student or graduate OR be a dependent of a current or retired member of IAFF Locals within Spokane or Stevens Counties.

- Between 16 years of age and no more than 23 years of age.
 
- Entering your initial post-high school educational experience.
